“I have always been the type of person that hates to ask for help. With the struggles I have had trying to find a job, I had to lower my pride and walk into the door at The River. The volunteers and helpers were so kind to me and explained what I needed to do. I ended up with more groceries than I ever imagined I would receive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting food back on my table!”

Double Your Impact Results

From July-September, The River had an opportunity to double new donations as part of a Second Harvest Foodbank Challenge Match. Our challenge was to raise $5,000 from new donors and donors who we haven't seen in a few years.finalfork

The results are in and we not only reached our goal, but exceeded it as over $10,000 was raised.

“Being able to provide meat, dairy, and fresh produce for my family is very important to me but I can’t always afford to purchase all of those items at a grocery store. With The River’s help, I’m now able to give my kids proper meals.”

Thanks to the generous new donors and donors who we have not seen in a few years that gave a gift, we received $5,000 worth of credit at the Second Harvest Food Bank to purchase food for our pantry!

The River believes that in times of hardship, it shouldn't be so hard to ask for help. So every day, in addition to fresh, nutritious food and basic necessities, shoppers enjoy the pleasure of decency, compassion, and dignity.

Thanks again to all our supporters who make this possible, we truly appreciate the support.
