“For me, food security is the foundation for everything.  If you have that - by using the pantry if needed - you can think about getting a better job, helping your kids with homework, working on your relationships, etc.  Without food security, everything is a much bigger struggle.”

Halloween Bash Scared up Funds for The River!

On Thursday, October 26, The River Food Pantry was honored to host a Halloween Bash, presented by Madison MagnetMadison Rotary After Hours! The event was a huge success, bringing in roughly 60 people to the pantry. And better yet, many came in costumes! Hue took The River's stage rocking out to cover songs and Halloween themed music. Attendees danced, enjoyed food and beer provided by Ale Asylum. A lucky winner went home with a $50 Madison Originals gift certificate as well! It was a great event raising over $1,600 for The River Food Pantry!

Thanks to the organizations who put this fun, festive event together. Also, a special thanks to all the attendees who spent their night dancing and discussing ways they can help Dane County neighbors. We hope to see you back at The River soon!
