"The River means less stress in my life. I know I can depend - it's hard to say that for most people - I can depend on [co-directors] Jenny and her husband Andy to be here, for fresh food to give to my children, a warm and open heart to talk to and say a prayer with if I need to."

- Deb (longtime River client)

The River, the busiest pantry in Madison set a new attendance record in May 2012 with 2736 family visits and again served more than 2700 in August 2012 with 2727 visits.

Thieves strike The River's Air Conditioning

Last week, copper thieves stole piping and condensers from two of The River's industrial air conditioning units. There have been some very hot days in The River's warehouse lately, making keeping food a safe temperatures a challenge.

Thankfully, crews will be here in a few days to fix the remaining unit and install two upgraded units on the roof to make them less susceptible to vandals. If you'd like to help The River cover some of the cost, donations are most welcome (make them online by clicking here).
