"The River makes a huge difference for us. When we come here I get canned goods and healthy food for the kids that they actually like such as granola bars, yogurt or cereal. We can’t afford to buy those items, and I know it seems like a small thing, but it’s a big deal for them. We’ve been coming here for a year and the money we save really helps our budget options.”

How did all those events go?

Hey all,

Just wanted to express our thanks to those of you who helped bring success to a series of fundraisers we had over the last few weeks.  Here's how they went:

  • Thank you to those fo you who answered our last minute call for volunteers for Rhythm & Booms. Enough of you braved the heat and volunteered so that we secured the $2,000 donation from American Family!  It was a scorcher but hopefully the great view of the fireworks and the satisfaction of knowing you helped provide needy families with $20,000 worth of food made it all worth it! Thank you!
  • We had a nice turnout for the Summertime Benefit Brunch at the Northside Farmers Market a few weeks ago. We raised more than we did last year, enjoyed great music from Skip Jones and fun balloon creations from Mike Farnham and served up a great breakfast to many happy folks. Thanks to those who volunteered and those who came out for breakfast!
  • Thank you to Marianne Gariti and eCycle for Hope for putting on a recycling drive for The River in June! What a great way to help the hungry and do something good for the enviroment. We'll let you know when this will happen again! If you missed the event and have items to recycle, schedule a pick up with eCycle for Hope by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and specify that you want the donation directed to The River.
Thank you!!
