“I never dreamed in a million years that I’d be using a food pantry. I was laid off and my 99 weeks of unemployment just ran out. I almost cried the last couple weeks I’ve been here. I am just so thankful for The River.”

-Paul,

New River Client

The River, the busiest pantry in Madison, set new records for family visits in March 2011 with 2528 and again in April with 2584 visits.

Join us on Sunday, June 12 for The River’s Summertime Benefit Brunch, 9am-1pm at the Northside Farmers Market (located at the corner of N Sherman and Northport Dr.). For $7 get a generous portion of pancakes, eggs, bacon and juice and coffee.  All proceeds will help The River provide food for needy families, and help us prepare for the period of August to November when low-cost food becomes scarce and our shelves are hard to stock.

Madison Mallards mascot, Maynard G. Mallard will be there from 10-11am. Enter to win a  4-pack and a 2-pack of Mallards tickets.

Bring your family and friends. Get a group together to go before or after church. And, shop the market for some fresh produce.  Hope to see you there!

Rain location will be The River Food Pantry.  Advance tickets are available starting May 1 at The River.

Want to help us promote the Summertime Benefit Brunch?  Download, print and post posters or flyers for work, church, school, your local coffee shop, etc!
