Amy Lord - Development Director

AmyLord interview

On-camera interview with Amy Carlson, Channel 15 (left), Amy Lord (middle), and volunteer Mary Zinn (right).

Hello! I joined The River Food Pantry in March 2015. I am very excited to put my years of expertise in marketing, communication, and outreach to work and share The River’s mission of providing nutritional basics and encouragement for all community members in need. In my role as Development Director I will engage donors, manage fundraising and signature events, work to build better relationships with corporate sponsors, and coordinate grant and foundation applications.  I am happy to be a part of a resource making positive change in the Madison and Dane County community.

In my spare time, you will find me and my husband Eric outside. We love to garden (we have a flower and two veggie gardens), kayak, hike or snowshoe depending on the weather, shop flea markets, go antiquing, and cook, especially with fresh ingredients grow locally and from our garden. There’s nothing better than working outside with the radio on and Bob Uecker calling a Brewers’ baseball game. We also operate a vacation rental farmhouse in Richland County adjacent to my parent’s farm. We have one pet, a lovable (and slightly overweight) cat name Boomer.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
