"I just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to volunteer. It was my first experience volunteering at the River Food Pantry and it definitely will not be my last. You were so welcoming and friendly. You truly run a top notch organization. The system is well planned out, the selection of available items was amazing and you have a great staff of volunteers. I had a lot of fun and I think the work you do for the community is wonderful."

Hannah Becker - Communications Specialist

I joined The River Food Pantry’s team in November 2015. Before The River, I worked at a daily newspaper where I spent my days outdoors, getting to meet interesting people and sharing their stories. Now at The River, I get to meet such incredible and a wide range of people in the community, whether they're supporters or shoppers, and share their story of how they’re connected to The River. I also manage The River's social media platforms, website, any external communications, create our newsletters/E-newsletters, help plan fundraising events, and coordinate grant applications. I’m so honored to have met such great people in the community.

I feel lucky to go to work everyday knowing that I'm part of this team that is dedicated to making a difference! I am so excited to contribute to The River's mission and help provide healthy and nutritional food as well as encouragement to our shoppers.

I've found a new love for biking and running, especially around Lake Monona and at the UW Arboretum. I also enjoy cooking with my boyfriend Steven, going to live shows, taking road trips and visiting new places, hiking, photographing nature, and reading. I have two adorable house rabbits named Ollie and Oscar.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."
