“For me, food security is the foundation for everything.  If you have that - by using the pantry if needed - you can think about getting a better job, helping your kids with homework, working on your relationships, etc.  Without food security, everything is a much bigger struggle.”

Julie McCoubrey - Lunch Program Manager

Julie

My husband and I moved to Madison from California in September of 2015. Leaving all of our family and friends was the hardest thing we’d ever done, but God has blessed us with many wonderful relationships here in Wisconsin.

My background has been in insurance and early childhood development. We have five children, and by this time next year we will have five grandchildren as well. My husband and I are GBP shareholders so moving to Wisconsin showed me that God really does have a sense of humor. (God’s a Packer fan you know.) We enjoy church activities (Door Creek Church), football, golf, bike riding, and movies.

I am so thankful God brought me to The River Food Pantry and I look forward to serving God through loving others for many days to come.
