United Way 2-1-1 is an information and referral service that connects people to a variety of resources such as: help paying bills, housing search assistance, support groups, food pantries, community clinics, and many other services! Search their database online. Do not hesitate to call if you have any questions or are having difficulty finding the resources you need.

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program that provides food commodities to distribution sites. Food pantries and prepared meal sites receive commodities and they are distributed with other foods. See eligibility and income guidelines.

Madison Homeless Resource Guide is intended to help volunteers, first responders and advocates in finding local resources to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) provides information about veterans state benefit programs and services.

Tip: Some food pantries follow the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) income guidelines (</=185% of the Federal Poverty Level) for determining who can use the pantry**. The income cut-offs by household size can be found at: **Usually, you won’t need to prove income with documentation. It is just a self-report.
