Health & Safety Volunteer Guidelines

Health & Safety Volunteer Guidelines

To help ensure the health and safety of everyone, we are asking each volunteer to follow these guidelines:
  • If you or someone in your household is not feeling well, including having a cough, fever, or any other symptoms, we ask that you please stay home to take time to get well.
  • Masks are currently optional. You are welcome to wear a mask if you prefer to do so.
  • Please wear gloves while volunteering, and change them as often as needed. We have plenty on site.
  • Please wear a hairnet in the kitchen. We will provide these.
  • After you sign in, please wash your hands. Wash whenever needed throughout your shift, such as after using the bathroom, touching your face or hair, eating or drinking, or after taking out the garbage.
  • While we recommend six feet of social distancing, this can be challenging within The River because of the nature of our work in preparing boxes of food and meals. The decision is left to you whether you are comfortable with volunteering in our current environment.

We know some of these guidelines may be cumbersome, or change your plans, and we thank you for your flexibility and support in keeping The River a healthy space for all to work, volunteer, and receive groceries.
