The River Food Pantry Now Open at 3301 Packers Ave
Community is Welcome Back for Drive-Thru Groceries, To-Go Meals, and Other Programs
The River Food Pantry opened for service in its new location on January 30, 2026.
MADISON, Wis. — February 23, 2026 — The River Food Pantry welcomes all members of the Dane County community who are experiencing food insecurity to visit its new building at 3301 Packers Ave in Madison to receive assistance. At The River, clients will receive healthy food options and necessities in a dignified and respectful manner.
“We closed briefly to move to our new building across the street from our old space,” said Rhonda Adams, The River’s Executive Director. “Now, we want to make sure the public knows that our most popular programs are back up and running, including drive-thru groceries, to-go meals through FAM (Family At-home Meals), Munch Mobile Meals, ePantry online ordering, and River Delivers to the homebound!”
Distribution hours for drive-thru groceries and to-go meals are Tuesdays from 9 am–3 pm, Wednesdays from 12–6 pm, Thursdays from 9 am-12 pm and Fridays from 9 am–3 pm. Once a week, clients can take home groceries, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and frozen items, as well as to-go meals for everyone in their household.
“Later this spring, we will open additional services, including after-hours food lockers, onsite dining and clothing. We will share schedules for these programs as soon as they are established,” Adams said.
