On December 9, 2024, construction crews mobilized to the site and began the construction process for the new River Food Pantry in earnest. After over a year of planning, designing, negotiating for the land purchase and working through the City permit process, we were finally underway. We are now finishing final minor construction details and punch lists.

On December 1, 2025, The River officially took possession of our new building. This past year has been an extraordinary journey and would not have happened without the amazing teamwork of everyone involved in this project!

We now begin the process of installing furniture and equipment to be used in the new building and finalizing our plan for moving operations from our existing facility to our new home. The planned move of operations will start after the first of the year with the goal of being able to fully occupy our new building by the end of January 2026.

There remain many details to work out related to operating from our new facility, but all of us, from River staff to our many volunteers, are excited about serving our community from our new location. This has been an incredibly successful effort and we are so thankful for the help and support of everyone who has had a part in making this project happen!
