The River Food Pantry’s new building enclosure continues to progress. The installation of the metal siding and insulation is nearly complete, with window installation scheduled to begin in the next couple of weeks.
Work on the interior of the building hit a significant milestone this week: all interior slabs-on-grade have been poured. This allows buildout work in the interior to begin. Already, metal studs for the walls are being installed along with the installation of ductwork for mechanical systems, piping for plumbing systems, and conduit for electrical systems. Now we can really start getting a feel for how the building will look on the inside!
On the building exterior, they have begun the installation of the geothermal wells for the project. This is part of the sustainable energy system that we have invested in to provide energy-efficient heating and cooling throughout the life of the building.
The construction crews endured some very warm weather this week, but work continues to progress at a good pace. We are so thankful for all the talented tradespeople who are making this building a reality!
As of July 2025, The River has received gifts and grants totaling more than $11.97 million to construct our new building! Our larger, purpose-built facility will allow us to serve the rising number of people who rely on The River for healthy, nutritious groceries and meals.
We invite you to help us reach our $12 million goal by supporting our Recipe for Hope Campaign.
