If you attended The River’s Grand Opening and 20th Anniversary Celebration on June 4th, you may have noticed an exciting new feature in our building – an art gallery! The wall between our lobby and dining room will display art from local artists and community members.
Through Sept. 30th, visitors to The River can view the exhibit Feeding the Soul by local painter Leola (Lea) Culver.
Lea paints with acrylics, experimenting with texture and technique. “I love painting flowers, and I am always envisioning a picture of clouds or sunrises or sunsets. I love painting with friends and family, sharing ideas and encouraging each other along the way,” said Lea.
Giving back is part of her work. She donates the proceeds from her art to nonprofits that are meaningful to her, sharing their stories in hopes of bringing greater awareness and support to the incredible work they do. 100% of the proceeds from Feeding the Soul will support The River Food Pantry’s mission. Contact art4river@gmail.com to purchase.
For those interested in displaying their work, keep an eye out for calls for participating artists.
