Update on The River’s New Building – August 2025 | The River Food Pantry

Work on the job site continues to get busier with multiple trades now working outside and in the building.  Inside the building the framing of the walls continues and the installation of drywall has begun.  The installation of the metal liner panel, which is on the inside of the exterior wall, is progressing at a good pace as well.  Our teams of plumbers, pipe fitters, sheet metal workers and electricians are busy installing the pipe, duct work and electrical conduit infrastructure for all of those systems.

The building enclosure work is nearing completion.  Windows are currently being installed as well as exterior doors and the overhead doors for the drive through bay and the load dock.  This will give us a secure water tight building.

Work on the site is moving forward as well.  The wells for the geothermal heat pump system have been completed.  The electrical contractor is installing conduit that will feed parking lot lighting and future electric vehicle charging stations.  And work on the solar panel system that is going on the roof has begun.  There is still a lot of work to do but we remain on schedule for the completion of the project later this year.
